Free Pregnancy Due Date Calculator – Estimate Your Baby's Arrival

A pregnancy due date calculator is one of the most useful tools for expecting parents. Based on well-established obstetric methods, it estimates when your baby is likely to arrive, helping you plan prenatal care, prepare your home, and organize your schedule around this life-changing event.

Our calculator uses Naegele's Rule, the standard method used by healthcare providers worldwide. When you enter the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), the calculator adds 280 days (40 weeks) to estimate your due date. If you know your conception date, it adds 266 days (38 weeks) instead.

The tool also shows your current gestational week, which trimester you are in, a visual progress bar, and key milestone dates. The three trimesters divide pregnancy into roughly equal thirds: weeks 1-12 (first trimester), weeks 13-26 (second trimester), and weeks 27-40 (third trimester).

Please remember that only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most healthy pregnancies result in birth between 37 and 42 weeks. This calculator provides estimates for planning purposes — always consult your healthcare provider for personalized medical advice and to confirm your due date with ultrasound dating.

FAQ

How is the due date calculated?+
The due date is calculated using Naegele's Rule: add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). This assumes a 28-day menstrual cycle with ovulation occurring on day 14. If you know your conception date, 266 days (38 weeks) are added instead.
How accurate is the due date estimate?+
Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most births occur within a two-week window before or after the estimated date (between 38 and 42 weeks). An early ultrasound (before 12 weeks) is the most accurate way to establish a due date.
What are the three trimesters of pregnancy?+
The first trimester spans weeks 1-12 and involves early fetal development. The second trimester (weeks 13-26) is when the baby grows significantly and movement is felt. The third trimester (weeks 27-40) involves final growth and preparation for birth.
What if my menstrual cycle is not 28 days?+
If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days, the LMP-based calculation may be slightly off. Women with longer cycles may ovulate later, which could shift the due date. In such cases, using the conception date method or an ultrasound provides a more accurate estimate.
Should I rely solely on this calculator?+
No. This calculator provides a useful estimate for planning purposes, but it should not replace professional medical advice. Your doctor or midwife will use ultrasound measurements, especially in the first trimester, to confirm or adjust your due date.
